GOING MAINSTREAM

2010, 2 channel video installation, inflatable boat 11:16 min., dimensions variable,
Commissioned by Aichi Triennale 2010, with support from the Nomura Foundation

In a misconstrued attempt at achieving the basic artistic and human desire to "go mainstream",
Yamashita and Kobayashi battle against the world's two largest rivers, the Nile and the Amazon, while riding in a small inflatable boat.
The film documents the two journeys, both covering approximately 30 km.
