2002.9.21-29, 9 days performance, earth, a pumpkin seed, a miniature green house with CCD and a miniature bulb, monitor, video recorder
Even if you have seen the birth of an animal, surely you have never seen the moment of birth of a plant with your eyes.
Yamashita and Kobayashi decided to share the painfully slow stream of time with a seed until the moving moment of sprouting.
They chose one pumpkin seed, put it into soil on their palm, and kept waiting for its germination day and night for 9 days by rotation. The seed was planted on September 21, 2002, and it sprouted on September 29.
